Ghost Crab Rangoon Hand Pies

Did you know that 73% of Americans say they will celebrate Halloween this year?  It is one of the biggest parties of the year and I must say, the MOST fun!  If you are hosting or going to a party these 6 ingredient Creepy Crab Rangoon Hand Pies are going to be a huge hit.  Who doesn't love a Crab Rangoon and we are making them GHOSTLY by adding a little of our special Ghost Pepper jam to the recipe.  This will add a nice little SCARE of heat but won't send your guests SCREAMING because it will be mellowed by the cream cheese and crab meat.  They will  DISAPPEAR from your platter in an instant!

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees

The Ingredients

Store bought pie dough. Each set of dough will make 4-6 hand pies depending on the size of your cookie cutter. 

That Dam Jam Ghost Pepper Jam- 2 tablespoons

Cream Cheese -1 bar  room temperature

Imitation crab meat-  1 cup flaked or pulled into shreds 

Green Onions- 1/4 cup finely sliced. 

1 egg beaten in a separate bowl 

Ghost cookie cutter- 3 or 4 inches in size

Pastry brush

Cookie sheet lined with silicone mat or parchment paper. 

Step 1

In a bowl mix cream cheese, jam, crab meat and green onions.

Step 2

Remove pie dough from the package and place on a floured work surface.

Use a cookie cutter to cut out GHOST shapes. Repeat with other piece of dough. Use a small icing tip to cut out eyes on half of the GHOST shapes. 

Step 3

Place one TABLESPOON of crab rangoon mixture in the center of the dough ghost without eyes.

Place a ghost with eyes on top.

Using a fork, seal the edges around the ghost.

Repeat until all ghosts are filled.

Step 4

Brush with beaten egg and top with a sprinkle of salt.

Step 5

Bake at 425 for 10-14 minutes until golden brown. Let cool and then transfer to a serving platter.



OPTIONAL DIPPING SAUCE

Whisk together :

2 T That Dam Jam

2 T Sugar

2 T Rice wine vinegar

2 T water
